In Texas, the Transmission and Delivery Utility (TDU) is the company that delivers electricity from the power grid to homes and businesses nearby. Your local TDU is who you call for power outages and other line and pole related emergencies. There are five main utility providers in Texas: Oncor, CenterPoint, AEP North, AEP Central and TNMP.

If you live in or around the DFW metroplex, chances are your electricity is delivered by Oncor. Oncor Electric Utilities brings power to over 10 million residential and commercial customers in 400 cities and towns including Dallas, Fort Worth, Odessa, Killeen, Tyler, Wichita Falls and Waco.
Energy Community Action
For your convenience, The Text Oncor service allows English and Spanish speaking customers to send a text message to report power outages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Just text “REG” to 66267 to register.
Once registered, text “OUT” to 66267 in the event that your power goes out. From there, you can receive an outage ticket confirmation, status updates and notification when Oncor restores your power.

Texas New Mexico Power
TNMP is a utility provider committed to energy efficiency programs. In 2016, TNMP received recognition from Energy Star for encouraging home owners to use only energy efficient appliances and equipment.
TNMP Electricity Service Area
TNMP service areas in Texas include North-Central, Gulf Coast and West. The three non-contiguous areas cover around the Dallas/Fort Worth region, along the Texas Gulf Coast between Houston/Galveston, and the Midland/El Paso area. Note: El Paso energy is not yet deregulated.

Sharyland Utilites
Sharyland Utilities is a power transmission and distribution service based in Texas and fully regulated by the Public Utility Commission of Texas. Sharyland uses an advanced metering system plan (AMS) that improves customer service, outage response, service fees, and product options.
Sharyland Electricity Service Area
Sharyland Utilities currently serves approximately 54,000 customers in 29 counties throughout Texas. Counties include Mitchell, Howard, Martin, Glascock, Reagan, and McCulloch County as well as overlap into nearby counties.
Energy Community Action
The Sharyland Residential Efficiency programs make rebates and incentives available to customers for a wide range of technologies that improve energy efficiency for lighting, air conditioning, and other utility systems. Sharyland’s Residential & Hard to Reach programs also offer incentives for installation measures that reduce energy costs and peak demand.
